Incessant rainfall has severely damaged the main water sources supplying Mangkolemba town in Mokokchung district, disrupting the town’s water supply.

The two principal water sources – Tenemtzuyong and Ngisameyong – which serve the entire town, were reportedly washed away following heavy rain early Sunday morning.
Officials from the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) said repair work has already begun. However, owing to the extent of the damage, they were unable to indicate when the water supply would be fully restored.
The damage comes amid widespread rainfall that has triggered floods and landslides in several parts of Mokokchung district, affecting road connectivity and public infrastructure.
Residents will experience disruption in water supply until restoration works are completed, the PHED infromed as it continues its effort to repair the damaged infrastructure and restore normal services at the earliest.
