Hill View Higher Secondary School celebrated its 50th anniversary today with a grand event held in the school auditorium. The celebration featured Padmashree T Senka Ao, former headmaster of the school, as the guest of honor.


In his address, Ao reflected on the history of education in the region, referencing the establishment of the first school in Naga areas in 1879 and Mokokchung’s first school in 1902. He commended teachers who also act as school proprietors, acknowledging their dedication and attributing improved school performance to their commitment. Ao further emphasized the importance of nurturing strong relationships between students, teachers, and parents, encouraging students to persist through challenges, remain humble in success, and look forward to future opportunities.

The program also included performances by the Jubilee Choir and a special cantata by Chubainla, proprietor of the School of Music. Amenla Amlari, Associate Pastor of the Women’s Ministry at Alempang Baptist Arogo, led an intercession.

Established in 1974 as a kindergarten, Hill View Higher Secondary School has grown steadily under the leadership of founder Bendangangshi Jamir and the current proprietor and principal, Dr. Anungla Aier. The school now serves both secondary and higher secondary students.
