Mokokchung, February 16 (MTNews): The BJP plans to go all out in the Nagaland Assembly elections, deploying its top guns for campaigning, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the party’s national president JP Nadda.
According to the ANI news outlet, Amit Shah will campaign in Nagaland for two days, on February 20 and 21, where he will hold a roadshow with Nagaland CM in Dimapur on Monday and address a rally in Mokokchung Town on day two of his visit.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam and the convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), will also be in the state on Saturday. He will hold three rallies in support of the BJP-NDPP candidates in Bhandari, Alongtaki, and Pughoboto.
The Assam Chief Minister will also attend the election campaigns of Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah. JP Nadda’s campaign schedule in the poll-bound state, on the other hand, is still being finalized.
Meanwhile, Nagaland state BJP media cell convenor Sapralu said on Thursday that top BJP leaders including Union ministers Kiren Rijiju and Sarbananda Sonowal, and the party’s BJP national general secretary BL Santhosh will campaign for the February 27 elections in Nagaland on Friday.
Law Minister Rijiju will address a rally in Longwa public ground and later attend meetings in Phomching and Tizit constituencies in Mon district, she said.
Ports Minister Sonowal, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, will address public rallies in Wokha and Mon town while Santhosh will visit Tuensang, Mokokchung and Zunheboto, she said.
