The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, felicitated Yilobemo Erui, a farmer from ICAR-KVK Wokha, for setting a world record in agriculture. Erui’s achievement of growing the tallest coriander plant, measuring 2.77 meters (9 ft 1.06 in), was recorded on April 25, 2024, earning him a Guinness World Record.

The felicitation ceremony took place during the “Interactive Workshop for Promotion of Oilseeds in Nagaland,” organized by ICAR Nagaland Centre at Medziphema on August 23, 2024.

C Peter Yanthan, Director of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, attended the event along with Dr Girish Patil, Director of ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun, Nagaland, and Dr H Kalita, Joint Director of ICAR, Nagaland Centre. Scientists from ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research (IIOR), Hyderabad, including Dr Sandeep Deshmukh, Senior Scientist & Head of ICAR-KVK Wokha, Anuranjan Singh, Skill Development Consultant & Project Manager, District Administration, Wokha, and Shishoi Oshom from the ETF-Cell, also participated.

Yilobemo Erui received an Appreciation Certificate for his achievement, demonstrating the potential for farm innovation in Nagaland. His success serves as an inspiration to other farmers and agricultural enthusiasts, showing the possibilities of integrating indigenous knowledge with modern technology.
