The Nagaland Government has approved the change of nomenclature of the Institute of Communication and Information Technology (ICIT), Mokokchung, to Government Polytechnic, Mokokchung.
According to a notification issued by the Department of Higher & Technical Education, the decision was taken pursuant to Cabinet approval conveyed by the Cabinet Secretariat on June 15, 2026.
The notification stated that the change of name will take effect from the date of issue of the notification and shall apply for all official purposes and administrative matters.
The department has directed all concerned departments and establishments to take necessary action in accordance with the change.
