As Nagaland prepares to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Hornbill Festival from December 1 to 10, 2024, at Kisama Heritage Village, the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) is calling for enthusiastic individuals to serve as Heritage Interpreters. This initiative aims to enhance the festival experience by providing visitors with insightful narratives about Nagaland’s diverse tribes, cultural motifs, folklore, and traditions.
A total of 150 Heritage Interpreters will be selected to work for 10 days, with shifts of 8 hours per day.
Interpreters will receive a modest daily honorarium, with performance-based incentives to recognize individual contributions and expertise.
Candidates must successfully complete a free of cost Capacity Building Training scheduled for November 23, 2024. This training is open to all interested individuals and aspiring tour guides.
Heritage Interpreters will lead informative tours at Kisama Heritage Village, the War Memorial, and the State Museum. They will articulate the significance of various tribal customs, motifs, songs, and folklore, while engaging with tourists to deepen their understanding of Nagaland’s cultural heritage.
Proficiency in English is required, with knowledge of Hindi or any foreign language being an added advantage.
A background in History or a demonstrated interest in Nagaland’s history and culture is beneficial, though not mandatory. Excellent communication, storytelling, or oratory skills are essential.
Recent graduates, current college students, or individuals skilled in foreign languages are encouraged to apply, as well as graduates or students in Tourism and Culture, and existing tour guides.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications via WhatsApp to 6909797811 or 8414903666. Applications should include a one-page resume (including name, age, year of graduation or current semester, college/course details, references, and languages known), along with a brief statement of interest and oratory skills.
The application deadline has been set on November 22, 2024. The training dates are on November 23, 2024. For more information, contact 6909797811 or 8414903666
