The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) Women Department successfully organized the “Imagine the Future Conference” today under the inspiring theme, “Beauty in Diversity: Inspire to Shape Future” at the Platinum Hall, NBCC office, Kohima. The one-day event brought together about 90 participants, including association women secretaries, church leaders, and representatives from tribal women apex bodies across the state, in a spirit of unity, inspiration, and shared purpose.
The program began with a warm welcome and introduction by Katoli V. Sumi, Women Secretary of NBCC. The conference featured keynote messages and multimedia presentations that emphasized the importance of embracing diversity as a divine gift and a foundational element for shaping a better future.
Sano Vamuzo, in her keynote address titled “All by His Grace,” reflected on God’s design in creating humanity with unique creativity and purpose. “We are all different, and that is God’s design—our gift,” she said. She encouraged attendees to recognize their individual gifts as tools to fulfill God’s purpose, highlighting the Christian responsibility to teach, transform, and connect with society through love and faith.
The second keynote was delivered by Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, General Secretary of NBCC, who expanded on the conference theme. He emphasized that diversity is not a barrier but a blessing. “Accepting diversity is essential for leaders if we want to shape a better society. Diversity enriches our lives, families, churches, and communities,” he stated. He urged participants to see diversity not as a call for uniformity, but as a celebration of God’s multifaceted creation, fostering respect, acceptance, and harmony.
The event also featured a series of impactful PowerPoint and video presentations, including “The Legend of Tabuanliu Gangmei” by RBCAN, “Much Effort, Much Prosperity” by Pelenino Chase, “The Anishe Flower: A Legendary Tale” by SBAK (Nito Mount), and presentations of ministries by Miqlat and LifeConnect.
The conference concluded with closing remarks by P. Angbhenla Phom, Chairperson of the Women Board, NBCC. The event ended with a small group fellowship based on the theme Fellowship, Friendship, and Love (FFL), reinforcing the unity and shared commitment of the participants to shape a vibrant and inclusive future.
The Imagine the Future Conference served as a platform to celebrate the richness of diversity and empower women and leaders across NBCC associations to become active agents of change in their communities.
