Kohima, 12 August (MTNews): Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club, under the aegis of Nagaland State Social Welfare Board, today observed International Youth Day in Kohima. Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Ngimchule emphasized on the importance of being a youth and their value to the society.

International Youth Day is observed on 12 August every year to appreciate the value of youth. Through this day, the United Nations seeks to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and celebrates the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society.

 

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton have extended greetings to the youth in the state and the world on International Youth Day. In a tweet, Rio said, from inspiring innovations to empowering movements, the youths are shaping a brighter future. He said all must support, listen and amplify their voices to bring about positive changes.

 

Taking to twitter, the Deputy Chief Minister also said youths are the torchbearers of the future, pivotal in shaping an equitable, sustainable and inclusive world. Patton urged all to empower the youth and stand by their side as they craft the world of tomorrow.
