Invitation for Online Folk Song Competition

Mokokchung, 28 April (MTNews): Under the banner ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, an online folk song competition has been organized under the theme: ‘Unity through Folk Song’ on 24 May by the Art and Culture department.

 

According to a DIPR report, the competition shall be open to Local Folk Artistes, Cultural Troupes & Institutions in the State of Nagaland. The participating group shall present one Folk Song in full Traditional Attires and the performance should be of minimum two minutes and maximum three minutes duration.

 

The song is to be presented in the respective local language while the participants shall not be less than fifteen persons and not more than thirty persons.

 

The participating groups are required to send/submit Recorded Video (in digital format/DVD/Pen-drive) along with the Lyrics (PDF Format) of the song in English to Email ID:

artandculture2023competition@gmail.com or to the Directorate office in person on 24 May. It was informed that no Audio recording shall be accepted.

 

There shall be no entry fee for participation in the competition. The panel of judges shall be appointed to judge the competition and the decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

 

The competition will be judged on the basis of the following:

i) Voice, Intonation & Rhythm

ii) Harmony

iii) Expression

iv) Music arrangement

v) Traditional Attires/Costumes

vi) Overall impact

 

The winning participants/groups will be given prizes and certificates.

1st Prize – Rs. 30,000/-
2nd Prize – Rs. 15,000/-
3rd Prize – Rs. 12,000/-

 

The participating folk singers should be from any age group of 10 years and above. The Entry Form can be downloaded from the Department Website www.artandculture.nagaland.gov.in and duly filled in form (in PDF format) can submitted to Directorate of Art and Culture office through Email ID: artandculture2023competition@ginail.com or WhatsApp No. 8798030180 on or before 15″‘ May ‘2023.

 

The Department will announce the competition result in the local newspapers. The Department reserves the right to modify, change and to interpret the contents of the above rules.
