The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC), representing multiple government employees’ associations, has resolved to intensify the ongoing Pen Down Strike and Tools Down Strike effective from 27 October 2025, following a meeting held on 19 October 2025.

The meeting included representatives from the All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Association, Nagaland Civil Secretariat Drivers’ Association, All Nagaland Directorate & District Government Drivers’ Union, and the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Grade-IV Staff Employees Association.

In a statement, the JCC said that as the Pen Down Strike enters its 10th day and with the Government showing no signs of urgency, “it can be safely assumed that Political Establishment is deeply involved in the selection process, thereby confirming that the IAS induction process reeks of manipulation and favoritism over merit.” The committee added that “procedural errors and the bureaucracy have been relegated to mere scapegoat in their quest to facilitate their favored candidate.”

The JCC emphasized that “until our demands are met by the Government and transparency and merit restored by way of restoring the 10th March 2025 Vacancy Circular and the withdrawal of the Non-NPSC/Backdoor candidate from the Panel List/cancellation of the Panel List, our democratic agitation will continue to intensify phase by phase.”

The committee’s statement was issued by its Media Cell, Joint Coordination Committee (JCC).
