The Annual Sports Meet 2026 of Government High School (GHS), Kandinu was held from March 11 to 13 with Joel Naga, President of the Rising People’s Party (RPP), Nagaland, as the special guest.
In his address, Joel appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to strive for excellence in all fields.
He urged students to discover their talents and make proper use of them instead of pursuing higher studies without clear goals or employment opportunities.
He emphasised that skill-based professions such as music, plumbing, electrical work, business, nursing, mechanics and sports can also provide successful careers.
Citing examples from the Chinese, Japanese and German education systems, he highlighted how students are trained from an early stage to develop practical skills.
He encouraged academically strong students to pursue careers in fields such as medicine, engineering and civil services.
He also stated that GHS Kandinu is progressing well and that the proposal for its upgradation to a Higher Secondary School is in the pipeline.
Students participated in various events including football, volleyball, running races, high jump, long jump, javelin throw and tug of war, along with fun activities for pre-primary and primary students.
