KFW Mission Team engages stakeholders, inspects projects in Wokha District

Wokha, 27 April (MTNews): The KfW Mission Team on 24 April visited Wokha to engage with stakeholders of villages involved in the Forest & Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya (Nagaland) Project (FBMP) under Wokha district and to inspect ongoing works.

The team conducted an interaction session with the Chairmen of the Forest and Biodiversity Management Project in the Himalayas (Nagaland) (FBMP) from five villages (Makharung, Mmhayan, Yanthanro, Ronren, and Thenhyayan), along with six Anti Depredation Squad (ADS) members from Baghty, Pyangsa, Mekokla, Haiyan, Liphi, and Pyotchu villages, at the office of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Wokha. Discussions revolved around the Human-Elephant Conflict in Wokha, with Suman WM Sivachar, IFS, DFO Wokha Forest Division, and Doyang Plantation Division.

Following the discussion on Human-Elephant Conflict, the team proceeded to Thenhyayan Village, one of the project villages under Doyang Beat, for a field visit and interaction with the community, including CCA members, SHGs members, and village council members.

The team comprised Dr Florian Wieneke, PM KFW; Sangeeta Agarwal, Senior Sector Specialist, KfW; Kishor Agrawal, CTA; Supongnukshi IFS, Project Director, FBMP; K Libanthung Lotha IAS Rtd. Commissioner & Secy., Team Leader, NEEPED; Dr Chonbenthung Kikon, Nat. M&E Expert; Takum Chang Dy. Director, NEPED; Zulukumzuk Pongen, Biodiversity Management Expert; and Er Renbenthung Humtsoe, PIA, NEPED.
