The Kiphire District Congress Committee (DCC) has formally addressed the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), seeking clarification on the recent suspension of the DCC Kiphire and all subordinate committees, including the PCC members of 59AC and 60AC, for 30 days.
In its letter, the DCC Kiphire expressed its commitment to the instructions and guidelines issued by the NPCC and the All India Congress Committee (AICC). “The DCC Kiphire strongly clarify that DCC Kiphire have been fully committed to all the instructions and guidelines given by both the NPCC and AICC,” it wrote. The DCC Kiphire emphasized its loyalty to the leadership of the NPCC and highlighted its efforts to strengthen the party’s presence in the district.
The DCC clarified that it has consistently fulfilled all official assignments and facilitated smooth coordination among the district committee, Assembly COnstituency Congress Committees (ACCCs), PCC members, and frontal organizations. It stated that any “unofficial visits” to the district made without consulting the DCC were beyond its knowledge and regrettable.
Expressing surprise and concern over the suspension order, the DCC called for transparency and urged the NPCC to explain the rationale behind the decision. The committee argued that “such kind of miscommunications and trust deficits basing on irrelevant information” could weaken the party at a time when efforts are being made to re-strengthen the Congress party in Nagaland.
The DCC Kiphire requested a prompt response from the NPCC to resolve the issue “for the betterment of the party and its dedicated workers.”
The letter was signed by Likyuse Sangtam, President of DCC Kiphire, and Tsalichum S Sangtam, General Secretary (Administration), and 15 other party leaders including ACCCs, PCC members, and frontal organizations of the district.
