The Kiphire District Cricket Association, under the Nagaland Cricket Association, has commenced the Inter-Club T-20 Tournament 2026 at the Public Ground, Kiphire. The tournament began on January 8 and will continue until January 13, bringing together cricket clubs from across the district for a week of competitive matches.
The event marks a significant step for cricket in Kiphire, aiming to promote grassroots sports, nurture young talent, and encourage teamwork and community engagement.
Andrew C. Sangtam, Treasurer of the Kiphire District Cricket Association, said the tournament is progressing well and the organising team is working tirelessly to ensure smooth conduct of every match. He added, “The competition is not only about winning trophies but also about inspiring local youth to take cricket seriously.”
President Justin Khatomong highlighted that the tournament is helping identify promising players who could advance to higher levels of the sport. “This is to encourage our district players and give them a chance to grow and shine,” he stated.
Longtili C. Sangtam, the official umpire, wished all teams the best and stressed the importance of maintaining fair play and professional match conduct throughout the tournament.
