The Department of Commerce, Kohima College, celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday with the launch of the Student-preneur Incubation Initiative to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
The initiative was launched by Dr. Vitsosie Vupru, Principal of Kohima College, to support students in developing business ideas through mentoring, guidance and incubation support.
The programme featured a keynote address by Biswajit Sarkar, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Dimapur Government College, who was the first Head of the Commerce Department at Kohima College when it was established in 2016.
Sarkar urged students to reflect on the department’s achievements and challenges and work collectively towards its future growth. The celebration also featured business proposal and quiz competitions.
