Kohima, 27 May (MTNews): The Gorkha Youth Association Kohima (GYAK) celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day on May 27, 2024. To commemorate the occasion, GYAK executives, led by Advisor Milan Sunam and President Narayan Bahadur, visited the Old Age Home in Kohima. The GYAK distributed a shawl each to the elderly people under the care of the Home and provided them with edibles and nutritious items. They also received the blessings of the elderly during a brief fellowship at the premises.

GYAK was formed in 1992 under the visionary leadership of the Late Deepak Lama to advocate for the welfare of Gorkha/Nepali youths in the capital district of Nagaland. Meanwhile, on this special day, GYAK announced its plans to host the Nepali Beat Contest and a sports event in July and December, respectively. In this regard, GYAK informed the community youth to prepare enthusiastically for participation in both events.
