Kohima, May 6 (MTNews): An update from the Kohima Law College media cell said that Asst. Professor Kezhokhoto Savi officially launched the month-long observance of world environment day at the college premises with the 2022 theme “Only One Earth” which would be culminated on 5th June 2022 i.e the ‘World Environment Day’. Savi said that Kohima Law College would organize programs to encourage the citizens of the state to be more aware and take action for the protection of the environment and also to raise awareness on the problems facing the environment such as air pollution, plastic pollution, illegal wildlife trade, sustainable consumption, and food security, among others. He further stated that the World Environment Day 2022 global campaign “Only One Earth” calls for transformation changes to policies and choices to enable cleaner, greener, and sustainable living in harmony with nature.
The update further said that “Only One Earth” was the motto for the 1972 Stockholm Conference and that 2022 is a historic milestone for the United Nations Environment Program and the global environmental community as it marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of United Nations Environment Program. This year the host country is Sweden. The world environment day is celebrated on 5th June every year in over 100 countries.
