Kohima, 21 February (MTNews): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Keku Zeliang, the father of their member Esuihangle N Liegise on 21 February 2024.
Zeliang, distinguished as the first matriculate and first graduate among the Nsarangbe Clan of Benreu village, dedicated his life to serving the Naga society in various capacities.
A pioneer in sports administration, he played a pivotal role as a founding member of the Nagaland Olympic Association in 1984. Additionally, he held significant positions, including the presidency of the Nagaland Wrestling Association and the Tenyimi People’s Organisation, among several others. He retired as Registrar from the Commissioner’s Office on 26 February 2001.
The Kohima Press Club extended heartfelt sympathy to their member, Esui, on the loss of her father and prayed for comfort and peace to Esui and her family during this difficult time.
