Mumbai Falcons brings national sim racing talent hunt with Rs 2 crore prize pool
Falcons Racing Limited, in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Minister, Nagaland, held a press conference at Zone Niathu, 7th Mile, Chumoukedima, on Tuesday to announce the upcoming Kohima round of the F1R Sim Racing India Open 2026.
The Kohima round will be held on August 28 and 29 at the NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima, and organised by the Nagaland E-Sports Society. The championship is described as India’s first official Formula 1 R-sanctioned national sim racing championship, aimed at identifying and developing emerging motorsport talent through competitive simulation racing.
As part of Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited’s nationwide talent identification initiative, aspiring racers will compete on professional-grade Formula 1 simulators, with successful participants progressing through different stages of the championship pathway.
The initiative is also intended to create opportunities for young people to explore careers linked to motorsport, including engineering, data analytics, race strategy, simulation technology, team operations, broadcasting and event management.
The F1R Sim Racing India Open 2026 carries a total prize pool of Rs 2 crore. The overall winner will also receive an opportunity to participate in Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited’s “One in a Billion Hunt, Agla Star”, supported by a Rs 3 crore driver development fund.
The organisers said the initiative would help talented young racers take their first steps towards professional motorsport while creating greater awareness of the wider opportunities in the sector.
The Kohima event will be held as part of TXG Expo Nagaland 2026, a two-day celebration of gaming, e-sports, technology, artificial intelligence and digital creativity, featuring competitions, workshops, exhibitions and interactive activities.
