The Koinonia Prayer Centre at Tsiesema Basa observed its 10th Foundation Day on 5 December 2025 with a thanksgiving service held under the theme, “…My house shall be called a house of prayer” (Matt. 21:13). The celebration was hosted by Mrs. Chumdeno and family, and the programme featured Rev. Dr. Zotuo Kiewhuo, Founder Pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church and Principal of Kohima Bible College, as the speaker.

In his message, Rev. Dr. Zotuo reflected on the journey of the prayer centre over the past decade. He said that within ten years of its establishment as a full-fledged ministry under the Koinonia Baptist Church, the centre has grown into one of the fastest expanding prayer centres, drawing thousands of visitors for fasting and prayer from various parts of India and from abroad. He noted that people continue to receive baptism every month, which he described as a sign that the word of God is “active and working”.

Speaking on the theme, he stressed that the church is called to be a praying church and that prayer must remain central, particularly in the end times. He said prayer for global mission should be prioritised so that every soul is given the opportunity to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He reminded the congregation that every believer should cultivate zeal for the kingdom of God.

Referring to the book of Acts, he said the apostles prayed continually in preparation for the coming of Pentecost and urged the congregation to embrace persistent prayer, describing it as essential for revival. Quoting 2 Tim. 4:2 to 4, he warned that people in the end days will prefer pleasing sermons “to suit their own desire” rather than “sound doctrine”. He said prayer humbles believers, adding that “people in pride do not pray”. Drawing from 2 Cor. 3:16, he reminded everyone that the body is the temple of God and that individuals must practise unceasing prayer. He encouraged the congregation to invest in the ministry through giving and prayer, noting that prayer can stop the wrath of God, turn situations around and should become a way of life.

A testimony was shared by 92-year-old Vimialuo, who recounted a barefoot journey in 1978 to a crusade with his elders, Lt. Rusovi, Lt. Meguolhou, Lt. Theyesayi and Lt. Musuohu. He recalled a prophecy received by Lt. Meguolhou during their thanksgiving that the area where they sat, now the entrance of the prayer centre, would become a consecrated place where people would witness miracles. He testified that the prophecy has been fulfilled as many now experience the works of the Living God at the centre.

The programme was chaired by H. Rokopra Mekro, Pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church. Scripture readings were delivered by Evangelist Ruokuotuo and Evangelist Meyiengonu. Music was presented by the Kohima Bible College Female Choir, the Deborah Group and the Koinonia Prayer Centre family. The offertory prayer was led by Assistant Pastor Zashekho Hibo.

The event concluded with the baptism of four individuals administered by Rev. Dr. Zotuo.
