Mokokchung, 16 September (MTNews): The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung conducted a training program for rural youths on 16 September 2023 at Sungratsu village. The training program was organized by the Youth Ministry, Sungratsu Baptist Church in collaboration with KVK Mokokchung.
The main topics covered in the training program were on winter vegetable crops cultivation practices and scientific poultry production. Mr Teka Walling, Youth Director chaired the program where twenty nine youths attended the program. The resource persons were Mrs Khekali Sema, ACTO (Horticulture) and Dr Sarendi Walling, ACTO (Animal Science) from KVK, Mokokchung.
Welcoming the youths, Dr Walling thanked the Youth Director for his initiation to organize the training program for the youths under the youth ministry. In the technical session, Mrs Khekali Sema spoke on the cultivation practices for different varieties of winter vegetables and their management. Dr Walling spoke on the scope of poultry farming for the youths along with different managemental aspects and sustainable poultry production. The program ended with distribution of winter vegetable seeds.
