Mokokchung, 1 November (MTNews): The Ladybird School Shooting Academy (KIC) held its 7th Annual Shooting Championship 2023 at the 10m Air Rifle & Air Pistol Shooting Range, Ladybird School, Mokokchung on October 31, 2023.


A total of 17 young shooters participated in this event, competing across six distinct categories during the 7th Annual Shooting Championship. These categories included the 10m air rifle bench rest for men and women individual, 10m air rifle sub-youth for both men and women individual, 10m air pistol for youth men individual, and 10m air rifle for youth men individual.

All the winners were awarded with medals and certificates during the medal ceremony held on November 1, 2023.

The medal ceremony was graced by Mr Nathan Ozukum, President of the Mokokchung Rifle Association who exhorted the shooters. He appreciated the LBSSA for nurturing young shooters in Mokokchung district and further encouraged the shooters to qualify in large numbers at the upcoming 11th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2024 and aim to qualify for the Los Angeles Summer Olympics 2028.

Mr Lipokmeren, who serves as both the Coach and President of Ladybird School Shooting Academy, also took the opportunity to felicitate and acknowledge the remarkable achievements of the shooters from LBSSA. He recognized their outstanding performance and success at the 8th Nagaland Shooting Championship 2023 and the 10th North-East Zone Shooting Championship 2023.

The coach also congratulated Imnanungsang Tzudir, a standout talent from LBSSA, for qualifying for the 66th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) in Pistol Events, scheduled to be held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from 19 November 2023.
