Landslide blocks NH-29, DC Kohima issues travel advisory

In view of massive landslide near Dzüdza bridge under Sechû Zubza, leading to complete blockage of NH-29 from chainage KM 163+980 to KM 164+030 (RHS), which may require days/week to restore, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant has issued a travel advisory for light vehicles till further notice.

Vehicles traveling from Kohima to Dimapur are advised to take the following routes: Jotsoma-Khonoma-Mezoma-Sechüma- Sechü Zubza or Dzüdza Bridge-Mezo Basa-Sechüma-Sechü Zubza.

Vehicles traveling from Dimapur to Kohima are to take the Peducha Bridge-Tsiesema (10 Mile Road).

All commuters have been advised to plan their journey accordingly and extend full cooperation.

Meanwhile, DDMA officials, led by the Deputy Commissioner, along with officials from NHIDCL and M/S Brand Eagles, inspected the landslide at Chainage KM 163+980 to KM 164+030 (RHS) at Dzüdza Village under Sechü Zubza (NH-29 between Kohima and Dimapur) on August 17, 2024.
