Dimapur, 25 June (MTNews): Livingstone Foundation International (LFI), Dimapur, held its Annual Investiture Ceremony for the Students’ Council at the LFI Basketball Court on 24 June. The ceremony aimed to empower students with leadership responsibilities and was made more special this year with the attendance and participation of parents and guardians of the Students’ Council Leaders, according to a statement from the Foundation.
The event began with Mr Vernon Fernandez as the Master of Ceremonies, followed by a prayer led by Ms Viravono Chase. Mr Acato Chishi, one of the parents, hoisted the school flag, and the Director of LFI, Mrs Ani Yepthomi, ceremonially lit the torch.
During her welcome address, Mrs Ani Yepthomi addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of the parents, mentors, and the newly elected leaders.
An important part of the investiture ceremony was the oath-taking by the leaders, administered by Mrs Ani Yepthomi. The elected leaders then received their badges, which were pinned by their respective parents and guardians. Similar to previous years, the School Boys & Girls Captains, Captains & Vice Captains of the Four Houses, Monitors & Asst. Monitors of various grades, and Prefects & Sub-Prefects of various hostel dormitories assumed their responsibilities during the investiture ceremony. Mr Henjoy Ham of Grade-XII Arts from Matthew House was elected as this year’s School Captain (Boys), while Miss Anna Zimo of Grade-XII Arts from Luke House was elected as the School Captain (Girls).
The ceremony also featured a performance of the song ‘Stand Strong’ by the LFI Girl Boarders and a special number by Mr Kakupu from Grade-XII Science. The event concluded on a solemn note with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Martha Mpom, a parent.
