The Lions Club of Dimapur has carried out the Lions International Initiative Hunger Free India Campaign from January 3 to January 11, 2026, undertaking a series of service activities aimed at addressing hunger and promoting compassion in the community.
The campaign was led by the club President, Lion Sanjay Jaiswal, and commenced on January 3 with the distribution of dinner to needy individuals outside the Dimapur Gurudwara, with support from the Gurudwara management. On January 4, the club distributed 50 dry ration kits to beneficiaries in and around Dimapur as part of its outreach efforts.
Dinner was served to the needy outside Dimapur Railway Station on January 5 with assistance from the Gurudwara Langar Service. Similar food distribution programmes were held outside the Gurudwara on January 6 and January 8. On January 7, the club organised an awareness campaign on the theme “Food Waste to Food Plate”, highlighting the importance of responsible food usage and equitable distribution.
Food distribution activities continued on January 9 outside Dimapur Railway Station. On January 10, under the Hospital and Patient Care Initiative, the Lions Club distributed fruit packets to patients and nursing staff at Civil Hospital, Dimapur.
The campaign is set to conclude on January 11 with food distribution for roadside animals. All activities were conducted under the chairmanship of Lion Amit Jain and Lion Rahul Jain, with active participation from Lions members and supporters. The Lions Club of Dimapur reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian service through the campaign.
