Kohima, 11 March (MTNews): The Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF), during a Working Committee meeting on 11 March 2024 resolved to extend support to the NDPP Candidate, Dr Chumben Murry, for the lone Nagaland State Parliamentary Constituency in the ensuing Lok Sabha Election 2024. This decision, according to Achumbemo Kikon, MLA & Secretary General & Member Secretary of the Working Committee, as stated in a statement, was unanimously adopted at the Central Office, Kohima, upholding the “spirit of Opposition-less Government.”

The resolution further stated that “an opposition-less government is now at the helm of affairs in the State of Nagaland with the objective of playing the role of active facilitators to bring about an early, honorable, acceptable, and inclusive solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue.”

Regarding the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, Kikon said there are four applicants, including the sitting MP, seeking the NPF Ticket. Therefore, the Central Office has constituted a Search Committee to identify the rightful candidate, whose report and recommendation are still awaited.

It was informed that the Working Committee resolved to meet again on Monday, the 18th of March, 2024, at the NPF Central Office, Kohima, to discuss and decide on the matter.
