The 66th Sports and Literary Meet of the Longjang Students’ Union was held at the local ground in Longjang village, in Mokokchung district, from December 27 to 30, 2024. TN Mannen, IAS (Retd), Advisor for Law & Justice and Land Revenue, Government of Nagaland, graced the event as the special invitee.
At the outset, the Advisor acknowledged the efforts of the stakeholders of Longjang village—particularly the church, students’ union, and village council—in improving the quality of education in the village.
He encouraged students to develop their talents both mentally and physically during their youth while upholding the spirit of positive competition. He also urged them to take the four-day meet seriously, emphasizing that a lack of seriousness would result in wasted resources and time for everyone involved.
Highlights of the program included an invocation by Senti Longchar, Pastor of Longjang Baptist Arogo, and a welcome address by Moarenba Longkumer, President of the Longjang Students’ Union. Words of encouragement were delivered by Imtinungsang Longchar from the Longjang Village Council.
The Longjang Students’ Union Mokokchung emerged as the overall champions, while the Longjang Students’ Union Dimapur was adjudged the runner-up of the 66th Longjang Students’ Sports and Literary Meet.
