Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, has informed that LPG supply in the district remains normal, with no irregularities detected during recent inspections.

The Kohima District Monitoring Committee for regulation and monitoring of LPG and other petroleum products conducted inspections of LPG distribution agencies and outlets across the district on March 28, 2026. The exercise was carried out under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000.

The inspection team comprised officials from the District Administration, Kohima Police, Food and Civil Supplies Department, Kohima Municipal Council, and Legal Metrology.

During the inspection, it was observed that all LPG distribution agencies were adhering to the guidelines issued by the Food and Civil Supplies Department. No instances of hoarding, black-marketing, or overpricing were detected at any outlet. Officials reported that LPG supply in the district is adequate.

The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unverified or misleading information. He also urged citizens to refrain from spreading rumours and to report any malpractice by distributors or hoarding of LPG to the nearest police station or the district administration for necessary action.
