Lok Sabha today witnessed a major security breach as two unidentified persons jumped inside the chamber of the House from the visitors’ gallery. They have been arrested along with two other persons who were protesting outside the Parliament. This incident happened around 1 PM when the House was taking up the Zero Hour.

Talking to media outside Parliament after the incident, BJP MP Rajendra Agarwal, who was the Presiding Officer of the House at that time, said two persons took out a smoke canister and were nabbed by the security personnel. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said the matter has been referred to Delhi Police for further investigation and preliminary inquiry suggests that the smoke emitted from the canister used by the unidentified persons was to create sensation and that it was ordinary smoke. Several MPs also expressed concern over the incident.
