Medziphema: 8th Edition of FROLIC CUP 2023 commences

Medziphema, February 1 (MTNews): The eighth Frolic Cup began today at Medziphema local ground with K Neibu Sekhose, Executive Member, All India Football Federation and President, Nagaland Football Federation, gracing the opening ceremony as special guest. He congratulated the Frolic Club for achieving a milestone of 25 years of yeoman service and encouraged them to strive for further excellence.

 

 

 

Encouraging the players, he cited the example of Dr Talimeren Ao who had no proper ground, ball or football boots, yet achieved greatness due to his dedication and hard work. He added that today’s generations are better privileged with the current Youth Resources Department developing football grounds and opening opportunities and that it is up to the individual player to decide which path to choose.

 

In the opening match, Medziphema Village Youth Organization defeated the Starlit FC Moava with 1 goal. The goal came in the early hour of the game from the boot of Thejasetuo at 10minutes into the game. Final score MVYO-1, SFC-0

 

In the afternoon match, Winfield Club trashed their opponent Tenyiphe-1 Youth Org with dominant play and fine finishing. The match ended with 4 goals to 1 in favor of Winfield Club. The goal scorers for Winfield were Lenny, Ayu and Purakum (2 goals) and the consolation goal came for Tenyiphe from the boot of Gangchui Pangmei. Final Score Winfield -4, TYO-1.
