In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants fired at the official vehicle of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Zunheboto while it was parked within the office premises at Amiphoto Colony.


According to sources, the incident occurred on the night of January 24, between 7:00 and 8:00 PM. Fortunately, neither the officer nor the driver was present at the time of the attack.

The vehicle, an ASF of the Forest Department, sustained significant damage. Bullet marks were visible on the car’s bonnet, with five shot marks on the windshield and car seats. The rear windshield was reportedly broken by a stone, and the windows of the Forest Department office were also damaged by flying debris.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and Zunheboto Police have launched an investigation. Authorities have called for a careful analysis to determine the reasons behind this brazen assault.
