Known widely by her stage name MJ Jamir, the gospel artist rose to fame when her cover of Dolly Parton’s ‘Coat of many colors’ went viral six years ago.

Speaking to Mokokchung Times, Jamir stated that she started singing from the tender age of four.

“Music has always played a major role in my life and I yearn to make music for God.” She continued.

She said that the message of her most recent song, “Nü Sempet,” which translates to “Your Gift” in English, is that our skills are inherent gifts from God and that, it is crucial for us to use them solely for His glory. Most significantly, it emphasizes conscientious living and making sure we make appropriate use of our gifts, she added.

The OST for the most recent DABA Youth Ministry’s series ‘Tamanger’ titled “Ner Kibong,” whose complete release is shortly anticipated, was also alluded to by the singer.

With a combined 54k likes, 3,13,100 views, and 2.01k subscribers, MJ Jamir’s singles Kibuba Kuli Südi, Kibong Tajung Yangertsü Renemang, and Laishibai Sayur (released under DABA Youth Ministry) have received significant appreciation from the music industry and the same is being expected for ‘Nü Sempet’.
