MLA Y Lima Onen Chang mentioned that Article 371(A) has been misconceived by the Nagas, thereby becoming a stumbling block in the advancement of the State in terms of development. He said the State is endowed with rich deposits of minerals, oil, and other natural resources. However, if these rich deposits of oil are not explored and extracted, they may dry up quickly due to the massive exploration and extraction of petroleum oil by our neighboring state, Assam.
Therefore, Lima Onen appealed to all sections of the people—be it underground, overground, or intellectuals—to come to the realization point instead of using Article 371(A) as an issue in any development.
