MLA Dr Sukhato A Sema today inaugurated two newly constructed cement concrete roads in Tsaphimi and Ghokimi villages under the Asukiqa area, Pughoboto, funded through the MLA Local Area Development Fund (LADF) 2024-25. Additionally, he inaugurated a multipurpose building for the Asukiqa area, which will serve as a community center for various activities and programs. The multipurpose building was funded under the SASCI Scheme (Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment) through the Youth Resource & Sports Department.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sema emphasized the importance of the proper utilization and maintenance of the newly developed infrastructure. He encouraged the public to take collective responsibility for preserving these public assets to ensure long-term benefits for the community.
The inauguration program was attended by ADC Pughoboto, the Executive Engineer of PWD Pughoboto, GBs, the Asukiqa Area Joint Council, the Asukiqa Area People’s Forum, church leaders, and representatives from various civil society organizations. Community leaders expressed their gratitude to the MLA for his continued efforts in improving infrastructure and addressing the needs of the area.
During his speech, Dr Sema also highlighted the importance of government schools and primary health care centers in the area. He urged the public to make full use of the available educational facilities, emphasizing that quality education is key to the development of the community. He encouraged parents and stakeholders to support government schools and take an active role in fostering a better learning environment for children.
Dr Sema thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his support of the people of Pughoboto.
