Independent candidate Aongsen Aier of Arkong Ward officially declared his candidacy for the upcoming ULB election at his residence on June 22. Expressing his interest in participating in the ULB election, Aier stated that he has always had the will to serve the people, and thus, has been committed to their service for a long time.
Aier associated his campaign motto, “Messenger of the People,” with his election symbol, the “envelope.”
Addressing recent controversies surrounding his candidacy, Aier dismissed rumors, stating, “Rumors are a part of the world, and they will persist.” He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and clarified his decision to contest in the election, urging people not to be misled.
Furthermore, Aier expressed his endorsement of the NBCC’s Clean Election movement, pledging to adhere to its principles rigorously. Drawing on his extensive involvement in church activities, he condemned electoral malpractices and stressed the importance of guiding youth onto the right path.
Highlighting his deep-rooted connection to Arkong Ward, Aier vowed to continue his community-oriented initiatives regardless of the election outcome.
He also apologized to the people for his inability to personally visit every household due to unavoidable circumstances, and requested the prayers and support of the people in serving Arkong Ward.
