Mokokchung, November 3 (MTNews): The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) in continuation of its previous standing orders from 2011 and 2015 has issued a rider on Saturday in view of the festive season to be implemented within its jurisdiction.
MMC stated in a notification that no trade permit holders are allowed to sell crackers or fireworks items. Further, it was notified that sale of raffle, calendars or any kind of fund raising activities in the form of donations to the shopkeepers by “any public of different clubs, societies, associations, organizations etc.,” are totally banned within the jurisdiction of Mokokchung Municipal Council.
Anyone found involved in such illegal activities within the town will be penalized as per the law, MMC said.
Further, MMC stated that bursting of crackers during the festive season must be avoided by all for peaceful and clean celebration of Christmas and New Year.
