The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has announced a revision in the prices of tomato, green chilli and carrot, citing the need to consider the “prevailing market conditions and to ensure fair pricing for both the consumers and sellers.”
According to the latest notification, the revised rates per kilogram are fixed at Rs 70 for tomato, Rs 140 for green chilli and Rs 130 for carrot. The order supersedes the previous rate notification issued on August 8.
“The office of the Mokokchung Municipal Council hereby notifies all vendors, traders and the general public that the rates of certain vegetable items have been revised with immediate effect,” the MMC stated in its notification issued on Tuesday, August 19.
It further cautioned that “any violation against this directive shall attract penalties as per the municipal regulation.” Rates of other vegetables remain unchanged until further notice.
