The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has issued a notification directing all business establishments and private institutions, including schools, banks, hostels, PG accommodations and other similar entities, to obtain or renew their permits by June 1, 2025. A grace period has been provided until May 31, 2025, to complete the formalities.
“To facilitate compliance, the MMC is pleased to grant a window period until the 31st of May 2025, for the completion of the requisite formalities,” the notification issued by Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC and Chief Executive Officer of the MMC read.
Further, it was informed that failure to comply will result in penalties: Rs. 5,000 for operating without a valid permit and Rs. 1,000 for failing to renew an existing one.
The notification was issued “in the interest of maintaining regulatory compliance within Mokokchung municipality.”
