The 36th edition of the much-awaited Children’s Christmas Cake Carol Competition (C5) will be held on December 20 at the town square, organized by the Youth Department of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA). More than 800 children representing ten fellowships under MTBA will participate in the annual competition, an event that has become synonymous with the Christmas season in Mokokchung.

Among the participating fellowships, Alongmen & Dilong (A&D) Fellowship leads with 130 children, followed by Salangtem (105), Arkong (94), A&B (90), Aongza (75), Tongdentsuyong (70), Medical (66), Kichutip (60), Penli (60), and UCYF (65), bringing the total to 815 children. Notably, seven out of the 18 wards in Mokokchung town are not under the MTBA.

On Thursday evening, children from all the fellowships were seen rehearsing at the competition venue.

It may be mentioned that A&D Fellowship, with their 105-member rendition of Khristmas Sempet, won the C5 title in 2023. Tongdentsuyong Fellowship, with 89 children, secured the first runner-up position with their performance of Jesus Is Born, while A&B Fellowship, comprising 101 children, took the second runner-up spot with their rendition of Christmas Time last year.

Traffic regulations for 36th C5

The Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA) Youth Department is organizing the XXXVI Children Christmas Cake Carol Competition (C5) on December 20, 2024, from 4 PM onwards at the Main Police Point, Mokokchung Town.

In this regard, the Additional SP & PRO, Mokokchung Police, has informed that the following traffic regulations have been implemented:

1. All vehicles coming from Amguri/Mokokchung village will be diverted towards IMDH (Hospital) Road and Longkumer Kilem (Gas Agency).
2. No Entry from Main Police Point to Post Office Junction.
3. No Entry from New Market to Longkumer Kilem (Gas Agency).
4. No Entry from DC Office Junction, Mokokchung, towards Main Police Point.
5. Vehicles coming from IOC Yimyu will be diverted towards Salangtem/Dilong Road from Dispensary Sub Centre (New Market).
6. Vehicles coming from the Kohima side will take the route of IMDH (Hospital) Road from Sewak Junction.
