The 4th Inter-Departmental Sports Meet was inaugurated at the Multipurpose Stadium, Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, on September 29, with Ao Senden president Marsanen as special invitee.
Marsanen urged participating players to uphold team spirit and sportsmanship, saying the event would strengthen friendship, unity and cooperation among government employees. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, he said its achievement required collective efforts and sincere contributions from citizens and departments.
He also encouraged participants to use public infrastructure responsibly, adopt technology and innovation effectively, and deliver public services with compassion.
DC Mokokchung and chief host Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, described the meet as a platform to promote physical well-being and strengthen coordination among government personnel.
The three-day meet features indoor and outdoor events including carrom, arm wrestling, badminton, table tennis, futsal, penalty shootouts and athletics.
