Kohima, 21 March (MTNews): The existing single-lane road between Mokokchung and Chare will be improved and widened, according to Governor La Ganesan.
Speaking at the 14th Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, the Governor said the PWD (National Highways) is attempting to widen the existing single-lane road to the intermediate lane for a total length of 178km on NH-202.
Under this, he said, a major bridge at Yei River will be constructed; the existing lane road between Mokokchung to Chare will be improved and widened while the existing pavement of NH-36 from Dilla Gate to Tragopan Jn (Dimapur city portion) will be strengthened.
The governor also said that the PWD (R&B) department is presently taking up construction and upgradation of 1104 km of roads at an estimated cost of Rs 2014 crores among which he said that out of the ongoing projects, 715km of road will be completed during 2022-23, 269km of roads will be completed during 2023-24, and 174km of roads will be completed during 2024-25.
