A one-day training programme for Chemists and Druggists of Mokokchung District was held at the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Conference Hall on October 27. The training was organized by the Drug Control Administration, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung.
Dr Takosunep Ao, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, delivered the keynote address, welcomed the participants, and highlighted the goals and objectives of the training.
During the session, topics covered included ONDLS and NPPA, Combating Antibiotic Resistance through Rational Use of Antibiotics, Effective Drug Storage: Safeguarding Potency, Safety, and Compliance, and Pharmacist–Patient Relations.
Additionally, Drug Control Officer Tsunungrenla Jamir apprised the participants of the rational use of cough syrups in pediatrics as per the guidelines issued by the Central and State Health Departments.
The resource persons for the training were Tsunungrenla Jamir, Drug Control Officer; Imlisenla Kichu, Pharmacist, PHC Longsa; Nungshijungla Jamir, Pharmacist, IMDH; and Jongto Aier, District Pharmacy Officer.
A total of 60 participants attended the training.
