Mokokchung, August 18 (MTNews): The Mokokchung District TB Forum meeting was held at Chief Medical Officer Conference Hall, Mokokchung on Thursday.
A Press release from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer stated that, Dr. Limatula Aier, CMO Mokokchung while delivering the welcome address encouraged the attendees for an interactive and productive meeting keeping in mind the ultimate goal of eliminating Tuberculosis by the year 2025.

 

 

Dr. Aonungdok, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung gave a brief introduction on the formation and purpose of District TB Forum.

 

Dr. R. Toshila Jamir, District Tuberculosis Officer Mokokchung with the aid of a PowerPoint presentation addressed on the objectives of TB Forum, terms of reference of the District TB Forum, a highlight on the National Strategic Plan 2017-25 for ending of TB in India and commitments / aims of the Government of India to end TB by the year 2025 and achieve the goal, “TB Harega Desh Jeetega” campaign which was launched on 25th Sep’ 2019. She also presented a detailed statistical slide on the TB Scenario and achievement of the District.

 

Longdiba L Sangtam, SDO(C) District Administration, who was present during the meeting, congratulated the DPO and team for achieving the highest District wise TB score for Nagaland, January- June quarter 2022. He also expressed urgency on the alarming scenario of TB in India. He further urged the District TB Forum to actively contribute in the elimination of TB by the year 2025 as proposed by the Government of India.

 

Further, in a short speech by Dr.Medemmayang, President, Indian Medical Association Mokokchung, applauded on the incessant initiatives of the Government of India in tackling TB and making services available to the needy. He encouraged all to come together and work as health workers alone cannot fight to eliminate TB. In this sense, he urged the participation of multi stakeholders and various sectors.

 

The attendees further sat for discussion and resolution. The meeting was attended by representatives/staff from District Administration, Office of the Chief Medical Officer, IMDH, TB Hospital, Care and Support Society and NMP+.
