Mokokchung, 1 September (MTNews): In a significant move to prioritize passenger safety and authenticity, the Mokokchung District Two Wheeler Taxi Association (MDTWTA) has introduced official ID cards for all its scooty taxi riders. This initiative aims to empower the public to easily distinguish between genuine taxi services and unauthorized scooty operators, ultimately protecting passengers from potential scams.
The MDTWTA stated in a social media post, “We’ve equipped all our riders with official ID cards, making it easy for the public to identify genuine taxi services and protect against unauthorized scooty operators. Remember, our riders are strictly prohibited from accepting fares without displaying these ID cards.”
“If you come across any private scooty pretending to be a taxi without the proper ID card, consider it a potential scam. We urge you to report such incidents immediately, providing vehicle details, to our association through the provided helpline numbers,” it informed. The MDTWTA’s helpline numbers are +91 7005210077 and +91 8974963946.
Further, the MDTWTA cautioned that it cannot assume responsibility for any risks or accidents that may occur “if you choose to ride with taxis lacking the ID cards issued by our association. Your safety is our top priority.”
