Mokokchung, July 21 (MTNews): Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting for July was held at Deputy Commissioner Office Conference Hall Mokokchung on Thursday chaired of DC & Vice Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS.

The Board while reviewing the minutes of the last DPDB meeting concluded that the problem of poor network/service (of BSNL) in Mokokchung was lack of maintenance at the micro station due to a land dispute. The matter has been resolved with a new MOU signed with the Deputy Commissioner as the witness.

 

Regarding the translation of the Nagaland Village Council Act, 1978 document to the local language, a committee has been set up to submit a report by September 2022. Concerning water supply in Mokokchung town, the board decided to constitute a Water Task Force.

 

Report on the Livelihood Project Phase-1 stated that 3,000 broiler chicks were distributed to 30 beneficiaries from 26, 27, and 28 assembly constituencies under Mokokchung district with phases 2 & 3 to follow soon.

Reporting on the COVID-19 status in Mokokchung, a H&FW Department official said there are presently two active cases and that the overall vaccination headcount in the district stood at 90% first dose and 80% second dose.

 

Further, the board recommended the opening of Kids Ark Academy, Alichen, Longkhum village; Valley View Academy, Longlilenden ward, Tuli; and recognition of Green Hills Academy, Chuchuyimlang with the up-gradation of classes from class-7 to class-10.

 

The board also verified and recommended the following societies for registration: Grateful Giving Society, Mangkolemba; Green Hills Farm Society, Satsu village; Rus Irriguus Society, Mangmetong village; Creative Mythos Society, Sangtemla ward; and Arju Society, Mokokchung.

 

On the proposal for the construction of the Health Sub-Center at New Yaongyimti village, the board directed the village council to take up the issue with concerned authorities in the state Government.

 

The Deputy Commissioner also urged all the members to maintain “no single-use plastic zone” in their respective office premises to make a cleaner Mokokchung district. (With DIPR inputs)
