The Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung, has released the draft electoral roll for the 28-Koridang Assembly Constituency, with January 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. The draft roll has been shared with all political parties, along with attendance sheets, photo records, and acknowledgement receipts.
The notice, issued under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, states that a copy of the electoral roll is available for public inspection at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and at every designated polling station during office hours. Citizens who wish to claim inclusion of their name or raise objections regarding entries or particulars in the roll must submit their applications in Form-6, 7, or 8 on or before January 24, 2026.
Eligible voters who will turn 18 on any of the subsequent qualifying dates in 2026, including April 1, July 1, or October 1, may also submit claims for inclusion in advance. Applications can be submitted in person at the office, through the respective Booth Level Officer or Assistant Local Registration Officer, or sent by post to the address provided in the notice. “The same shall be considered and decided in the respective quarter of the year with reference to the respective qualifying date,” the notice read.
The meeting for the draft publication was attended by representatives from the Naga People’s Front (NPF), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Indian National Congress (INC).
