The Mokokchung Forest Division, in collaboration with the Wildlife Division Dimapur, celebrated Advent Christmas with the “Golden Agers” under the theme “Aging Gracefully” at the Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church Old Age Home on November 29.

Dr Sentitula IFS, DFO Mokokchung, stated that they chose to celebrate with the Golden Agers as they are the most experienced and encountered individuals, capable of provoking and encouraging young people about the importance of conserving the environment.

The Advent Christmas celebration continued on November 30 at the Sabangya Children’s Home, under the Care & Support Society, with the theme “Light of the World.” The staff met with the 21 children and their guardians at the Children’s Home.

The highlight of the visit was a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing joy and the welcoming of the festive Christmas spirit. Ningtanger gave a short introduction and interacted with the children, expressing his gratitude and offering words of encouragement, wishing the children a joyous and merry Christmas. Moarenla shared a brief message on the meaning of Christmas, urging the children to dream big, stay humble, and remain respectful towards their guardians, friends, and elders. She concluded with a prayer for the children. The caretaker also extended a warm welcome to the department’s delegation and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the visit and gifts.
