Mokokchung, July 1 (MTNews): Gameweek 8 of the Mokokchung Friday League for 35+ players was played at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
In the opening game of the day, Senso Sporting Club defeated Royal Enfield Mokokchung with a goal to none. Tongpangkokba scored the lone goal of the match at the 31st minute tackling past the defense and maneuvering the ball past the defenseless goalie. Royal Enfield Mokokchung were unable to find the equalizer as the team lacked coordination and attacking prowess from its forwards.
In the second game, Sentiyanger and Tiasunep of Terokroker FC scored two superb goals ensuring the sides win against New Ecclesia. Renbi Rangthang’s early goal at the 31st minute remained in vain for the New Ecclesia side as Sentiyanger quickly equalized at the 39th minute while Tiasunep sealed the deal for the side scoring the winner of the match at the 65th minute.
The last and final match of the day saw Revenant FC’s Chubangangnen score all three goals for the side making the score line 3 – 1 against Aturar FC. Aturar FC’s Moatemsu scored a contender at the 48th minute but the team could not over power or stop the attacking Revenant side with Chubangangnen scoring the hat trick with goals at the 23th, 32nd and 69th minutes.
