Mokokchung, 5 December (MTNews): In the spirit of the festive season, the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) in collaboration with the Seasonal Club Mokokchung has announced the grand celebration of the 50th edition of the Inter-ward Christmas Cake Race and Fancy Dress Competition. The highly anticipated yearly event is set to take place on 23 December 2023, starting at 7:00 AM, at the Main Police Point in Mokokchung. The Fancy Dress Competition will be based on the theme – “The Visit of the Three Magi”.
Therefore, all the wards have been requested to actively participate in the above-mentioned competitions with a spirit of joy and peace following the guidelines given below:
Guidelines for Inter-ward Christmas Cake Race organized by MMC
The race is open only for bona fide residents of respective wards of Mokokchung municipality.
Every participating team shall comprise 2 (two) girls and 9 (nine) boys, i.e., 11 runners. Points 1 and 2 runners shall be female participants only.
The name list of participants, duly signed by the Ward authority in the provided format, must be submitted no later than December 20, 2023, to the Technical Committee.
All participants are to report to the main police point at 6:30 AM.
Military and uniformed personnel shall be debarred from participating in the race.
Crossing of lanes by the receiving partners (wherever marked or specified) and throwing of batons shall result in disqualification.
Chest numbers shall be determined by Draw-of-Lot.
Certificates with cakes shall be awarded to all the winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and cakes to all the participating teams as consolation prizes.
In case of a dispute, the decision of the organizers shall be final and binding.

Guidelines for Fancy Dress Competition organized by MMC
The competition is open only for bona fide residents of respective wards of Mokokchung municipality.
The time allotted for each team shall be a maximum of 3 minutes.
Participants of each team are to make a round of the main Police Point during the competition.
All competing teams are encouraged to display their own creativity/uniqueness.
The name list of participants, duly signed by the Ward authority in the provided format, must be submitted no later than December 20, 2023, to the Programme Committee.
All participants are to report to the main Police Point at 6:30 AM.
Serial numbers shall be determined by Draw-of-Lot.
Certificates with cakes shall be awarded to all the winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and cakes to all the participating teams as consolation prizes.
