The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has revised the rates of six vegetables within its jurisdiction with immediate effect.
The revised rates were fixed by the Market Regulation & Enforcement Committee following a review of vegetable prices, according to a notice issued by MMC ADC and Chief Executive Officer Atsungba Walling on August 25.
Under the revised rates, tomato has been increased from Rs 40 to Rs 50 per kg, while green chilli has been revised from Rs 90 to Rs 110 per kg.
The rate of carrot has been increased from Rs 80 to Rs 120 per kg, while cabbage has been revised from Rs 30 to Rs 55 per kg.
The rate of onion has been increased from Rs 40 to Rs 70 per kg, while beans has been revised from Rs 60 to Rs 120 per kg.
The MMC said the revised rates would take effect immediately within the municipal jurisdiction.
It warned that any violation of the directive would attract penalties as per municipal regulations.
The council also stated that the rates of other vegetables would remain unchanged until further notice.
